A FLAGSHIP STORE LIKE NO OTHER


OBSENTUM is a niche fragrance luxury retailer that proposes a new kind of scent experience, enriching the traditional shopper journey by also providing unique services and authentic wellness rituals. Forbidden scents and glamorous displays are all present in the new, one-of-a-kind, luxurious Obsentum niche perfume store, that fully opened its doors for clients at the end of September 2018 in Baneasa Shopping City, Bucharest - Romania.

In its entirety, the flagship store was designed to disrupt the consumer journey, attract shoppers from afar with its massive storefront, welcoming angles, discreet yet sophisticated lighting and glossy textures.

Overall, it features a perfume retail display section and a beauty area (dedicated to both skin care and home scent exclusive products). Each of these sections are equipped with specialized customer interaction areas for product try-out and brand display.

The 192 sqm store is subdivided into a series of salons, each with a different atmosphere and functionality. The rooms recreate a gradual transition from an open retail area towards a more secluded, personal section where clients discover an entirely new intimate space, the lounge. Each of these rooms is decorated to place each perfume brand in the spotlight, the furniture pieces being themselves generous brand-representatives.






BESPOKE MATERIALS FOR A STATEMENT STORE


The mirrors in each room are visually amplifying the space while ensuring an extra layer of luxury – creating a staged, controlled perspective. To balance the furniture’s “visual” weight and unify the entire space, the ceiling features a linear chandelier that enhances the monumentality of the store.


The ample perspective is directed towards the videowall that adds dynamism to the composition.

Unconventional materials, such as hand-patinated brass, marble 'look and feel' plexiglass and antiqued glass, are complemented by classic touches of gold, granite, crystal and even velvet, embedding style in each display piece.

Premium, long-lasting finishing surfaces are selected individually for each of these items, transposing the brands' identities into a chic and timeless store aethetic, for an unforgettable shopper experience.





LUXURIOUS DETAILS AND SCENT ACTIVATION SOLUTIONS


With Obsentum, scent testing is a ritual in itself and so custom-made, personalised blotters accompany each perfume on display. Through our careful craftmanship, design technology and special ceramics processing methods, these accessories help offer an unaltered, immersive fragrance testing experience. The perfume blotters are part of our portfolio of scent activation solutions.

The immersion in the universe of luxurious scents is complete in the VIP lounge room. Here the VIP customers can interact with the products in a premium but more intimate setup that makes use of the visual elements that define the entire store: an imposing crystal chandelier, generous frame displays on the walls and exquisite glorification solutions. The setup of this space is complemented by a gold-plated marble table and leather furniture pieces.


Another section of the shop is dedicated to beauty products testing, and it includes the "instagrammable" video-display corner and a make-up studio.

As main collaborators in implementation of this project, we provided the engineering, production and on-site setup of the interiors, most retail display pieces and additional accessories.

The whole process took over six months and ensured that the final product, “the house of the forbidden scents” of Obsentum, is fully defined by elegance and authenticity, impeccable experiences and bold effects all around.
